National Safety Week 2026 was observed at OPaL from 4th to 10th March 2026, commemorating the 55th National Safety Week under the theme, "Engage, Educate & Empower People to Enhance Safety." The campaign reaffirmed OPaL's commitment towards workplace safety, occupational health, and accident prevention.
To promote safety awareness and engagement across all levels, a series of activities and competitions were organised for employees, workers, contractors, and family members. These included slogan and poster competitions, on-the-spot housie for contractors, online crossword for employees, home safety quiz for families, OSHE projects, risk assessment competition, TBT competition, contractor supervisor rapid fire round, and forklift competition.
As part of NSW-2026 celebrations, a PPE Exhibition and Blood Donation Camp were also organised. The blood donation camp was conducted in collaboration with the government-approved agency, M/s Unity Blood Bank, Bharuch. The medical team ensured strict adherence to all safety protocols, hygiene standards, and donor care practices throughout the drive.
The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response from the OPaL community. A total of 133 donors, including employees, TPAs, and contractors, voluntarily donated blood, reflecting the spirit of compassion, unity, and social responsibility embedded within the OPaL family.
The closing ceremony for National Safety Week 2026 was organised on 1st May 2026, where winners of various competitions were felicitated. The occasion also recognised the dedicated efforts of Plant Safety Representatives and employees who significantly contributed towards strengthening safety culture within their respective districts.
During the ceremony, the Best Safety Performing Districts were honoured with rolling trophies:
- Plant Runner-Up: Offsites & Pipeline
- Plant Winner: DFCU
- Services Team Winner: Product Warehouse
The successful observance of National Safety Week 2026 reinforced OPaL's continued focus on building a proactive and participative safety culture across the organisation.
