We at OPaL, measure our growth in terms of our contribution to society too. From supporting the healthcare sector by introducing new polymer grades during the COVID pandemic and thus fruitfully contributing to the Make in India drive of GOI to empowering the education system in the nearby villages, as well as ensuring that essential goods reach those who need it the most - we have always been at the forefront of supporting people during times of need.
OPaL has been relentlessly supporting the fight against COVID since the start of the COVID crisis last year. Our team has come together and distributed sanitizers and masks to various govt. offices, taluka-level offices and neighbouring villages to support the district administration.
During the second wave, which was more intense than the first one, OPaL stepped up to provide oxygen concentrators, which were in great shortage and proved to be a lifesaver. OPaL donated 10 Oxygen Concentrators to Bharuch District Administration for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in the district. These units were handed over to the Primary Health Centre and Community Health Centre of various talukas viz. Dahej, Vagra, Suklatirth, Jhanor, Umalla of Bharuch District under the guidance of the District Collector Dr. M. D. Modiya, IAS.
OPaL takes its responsibility towards the citizens very seriously. In the spirit of being a good Samaritan to those in need, we came forward to distribute premier quality sanitizers (500ml), masks (3 layer face mask) and odomos tubes to people in Bharuch city and villages like Suva, Ambetha and Vagra.
OPaL also undertook a food packet distribution drive in Suva and Ambetha villages. Moreover, there were some unfortunate people like migrant workers who were so worst off that they didn’t have a home to cook two meals. For such groups, hot meals, cooked in OPaL canteen, were distributed in Jolwa village in Bharuch district.
Women from the Mahila Bhajan Mandal of Suva village, Bharuch district had requested OPaL Management funding to purchase Bhajan Mandal equipment like sound system, speakers and traditional instruments for organising religious function/bhajans, etc. OPaL management readily granted a donation of Rs. 50,000/- (Fifty Thousand only) to the Bhajan Mandal, which would help the group to earn their livelihood and also help in maintaining harmonious relations with villagers.
At OPaL, we are doing our bit by empowering authorities with medical equipment as well as financial aid to fight COVID-19. Towards this, we donated Rs. 5 Lakh to Jayaben Mody Hospital, Ankleshwar for the treatment of underprivileged COVID-19 patients.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the Narhari Hospital, Vadodara had been treating the COVID positive patients. To ramp up its capacity, the hospital had planned to increase the facility to serve 50-60 patients by increasing the number of beds and upgrading the ICU facility. This is when OPaL came forward to donate Rs.12 Lakhs to the Hospital, to procure a ventilator that would aid them in the treatment of underprivileged COVID-19 patients.
“Sujalam Sufalam Jal Abhiyan” is the biggest water conservation drive in the country launched by the Government of India on May 1st, 2018. The government plans to create an additional capacity of 11,000 lakh sq. ft. of rain water storage and deepen around 13000 ponds and check dams to restore conventional water resources. To tackle this water shortage, drinking and irrigation issues, a month-long campaign was initiated by the Govt. The campaign's main purpose was to de-silt and revive existing water bodies by excavating them so that they collect more rainwater
OPaL keenly participated in the social cause, digging 2 village ponds of Shinor taluka namely Satisana & Utraj for water conservation. These initiatives were appreciated at the highest level, with OPaL being awarded the completion & participation certificate by the Hon'ble Member of the Legislative Assembly Shri Jitubhai Vaghani.
OPaL handed over the cheque to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Gujarat of ₹ 51 Lakhs as a contribution to the CM Relief Fund for the flood victims of the Banaskantha & Patan districts of Gujarat.
Every year, we invite school children to participate in our Independence day celebrations to boost their self-confidence & their morale. On the 72nd Independence Day celebrations, OPaL, Dahej invited Ambheta & Suva Primary Schools students as a goodwill gesture. On this occasion, principals of both the primary schools were handed over a cheque of Rs.15,000/- (each school) for the development work of their schools by Shri Avinash Joshi, IAS, MD-OPaL, who graced the occasion as a chief guest.
Principals of Ambheta & Suva Schools had requested OPaL for a well-equipped PA system to facilitate functions. OPaL was more than eager to meet this request. A PA system was handed over to the school authorities in a formal event, which was held at both schools in the presence of Shri Rajeev Shrivastava, General Manager-HR.
The PA system will be of great help to the school children in daily assembly/prayer and in organising cultural programs and for the celebrations during national days.
