Harmony
ONGC Petro Additions Limited (OPaL), Dahej, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India on 26 January 2026 with patriotic fervour, dignity, and a spirit of unity. The occasion also marked the 150th year of the national song Vande Mataram, adding deeper historical and emotional significance to the celebration.
The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, Shri Gurinder Singh, Managing Director – OPaL, followed by the National Anthem & National Song Vande Mataram. A ceremonial parade by the Security, Fire, 5S, and Armed SRP platoons showcased discipline, preparedness, and collective responsibility. The parade inspection by the Chief Guest symbolized respect for the commitment and vigilance of the teams safeguarding the organization.
Addressing employees, the Managing Director appreciated their dedication in driving OPaL’s growth journey. He reaffirmed the company’s long-term vision of emerging as one of the most admired petrochemical organizations in India and Asia. Reflecting on India’s democratic legacy, he highlighted the strength of the Constitution and emphasized that Republic Day is not only a celebration, but also a day of introspection — an opportunity to review past contributions and prepare responsibly for future challenges.
Shri Singh underscored that while change and challenges are inevitable, determination and collective purpose remain central to nation-building. He also spoke about India’s expanding global engagement and its evolving leadership role on the international stage.
Outlining OPaL’s near-term priorities, he emphasized task standardization, ownership-driven work culture, and self-introspection as key pillars for addressing future challenges. He reminded employees of their social responsibilities and fundamental duties toward society and the nation, thanking all stakeholders for their unwavering support in ensuring business continuity.
Sharing three guiding principles for personal and professional excellence,
he encouraged everyone to:
• Adopt a growth mindset

through daily reflection
To commemorate the 150th year of Vande Mataram, attendees paid tribute with a standing ovation, reinforcing a shared sense of national pride. The ceremony also included a salute to the National Flag and felicitation of Jawans for their exemplary service.
The celebrations continued with vibrant cultural performances, including welcome dances, group and solo songs, instrumental presentations, self-defence demonstrations, poetry recitations, and traditional dance performances. A spirited Bhangra performance by the Security Department and enthusiastic participation by employees and their families added warmth and inclusivity to the occasion. A moving rendition of “Mere Vatan Ke Logon” further elevated the patriotic atmosphere.
The event concluded with Badakhana, where employees, families, and security personnel shared a meal together — symbolizing unity, gratitude, and collective celebration.
