  • 04-03-2025

At OPaL, safety isn’t just a regulation—it’s a mindset, a shared responsibility, and a core part of our culture. Embracing this belief, OPaL celebrated National Safety Week (NSW) 2025 from March 4 to 12 under the national theme: “Safety & Well-being Crucial for Viksit Bharat.”

National Safety Week, observed across India to mark the founding of the National Safety Council, highlights the importance of workplace safety and well-being. OPaL proudly joined this national movement, reinforcing safety practices across all operations—from offices to field sites.

The week kicked off with a Safety Pledge Ceremony led by Shri Arup Jhampri, COO-OPaL, who emphasized the critical role of safety in everyday operations and OPaL’s long-term vision.

Safety Week at OPaL was marked by a series of engaging and meaningful activities aimed at reinforcing our collective commitment to workplace safety.

Beginning on Day 2, Safety Housie brought an interactive twist to safety learning across all plant departments, involving contractor employees from both G and rotational shifts. The game-based format made key safety concepts easy to grasp and remember, especially for those on the frontline.

Tapping into the digital realm, OPaL also launched an exclusive Online Process Safety Management Quiz for employees. This initiative encouraged participants to test their knowledge while deepening their understanding of critical safety practices in an engaging way.

Throughout the week, several initiatives showcased the holistic nature of industrial safety which included: Contractor Safety Meetings – Fostering open conversations and shared responsibility, PPE Exhibition – Demonstrating cutting-edge protective gear and best practices, Blood Donation Camp – Reflecting OPaL’s broader commitment to community well-being

To add a competitive and creative dimension, various contests were organized: Toolbox Talk Competition for contractors, Risk Assessment Competition for employees, Slogan & Poster Competitions for both employees and contractors

The enthusiastic participation from all departments highlighted the spirit of unity and safety-first culture that defines Team OPaL. The celebrations concluded with a Grand Closing Ceremony on March 28, where winners were honored and the collective commitment to safety was celebrated.
