Honouring 19 Years of Excellence, Resilience, and Shared Growth
ONGC Petro additions Limited (OPaL) celebrated its 19th Foundation Day at the Dahej Petrochemical Complex with great pride, enthusiasm, and a renewed commitment toward becoming a future-ready organisation. The celebration brought together OPaL’s leadership and employees to commemorate nearly two decades of progress, operational resilience, and shared achievements.
The ceremony commenced with Shri Amit Kaul, Head–HR, who welcomed all OPaLians and acknowledged the organisation’s sustained growth and collaborative spirit. Messages from senior leaders highlighted key operational, strategic, and cultural milestones that have shaped OPaL’s journey.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri G. Moolnarayan, Head–CTS & Head–Cracker (Additional Charge), commended OPaL’s determination and resilience in steering large-scale operations. Shri Rajeev Vijay, Head–Maintenance, emphasised OPaL’s capability in overcoming operational challenges. Shri Vijay Iyah, Head–MM, highlighted advancements in logistics, digital adoption, and supply chain systems. Shri Vikas Agarwal, Head–Utilities & Offsites, reinforced OPaL’s continued focus on reliability and safety excellence. Shri Lalitesh Kumar, Head–Polymer, lauded OPaL’s agility and adaptability in a dynamic global petrochemical market.
Shri Arup Jhampri, COO, reiterated OPaL’s commitment to Process Safety Management, Behaviour-Based Safety, Total Quality Management, and continuous improvement. He reinforced OPaL’s commitment to maintaining equipment health, training employees, and continuously improving operational efficiency to stay competitive globally.
In a video address, Shri Sanjay Bharti, Director–Finance & Commercial, and CFO, urged OPaLians to embrace cost consciousness as a core cultural value. He outlined key transformational developments, including OPaL’s SEZ exit and financial restructuring, which will significantly strengthen the organisation’s long-term profitability and operational flexibility.
Shri Sanjay Varma, Director–Marketing & Corporate Strategy, highlighted the organisation’s focus on cost leadership, technology adoption, and navigating the cyclical nature of the petrochemical industry with strategic foresight.
Delivering the keynote address, Shri Gurinder Singh, Managing Director, reflected on OPaL’s 19-year journey of evolution. Quoting Charles Darwin, he noted that adaptability remains essential for long-term survival and success. He further emphasised OPaL’s increasing customer-centricity and recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s principle that customers are central to an organisation’s existence. “The future is bright, and together, we will continue to elevate OPaL to greater heights,” he concluded.
As part of the celebrations, OPaLians showcased their talents through a vibrant cultural programme featuring soulful singing, traditional Lok Geet, instrumental recitals, and energetic Garba performances. These performances lit up the celebration, reflecting the creativity, passion, and unity that define OPaL. The event was a true testament to the organisation’s people, who contribute not only professionally but also culturally, strengthening the collective bond that drives OPaL forward.
