National Safety Week (NSW) 2024 is observed across India to commemorate the Foundation Day of the National Safety Council, established by the Government of India. At OPaL, the celebration took place from March 4th to March 12th, 2024, with the theme "Focus on Safety Leadership for ESG Excellence." On the opening day, a safety pledge was administered at all locations, with Shri Arup Jhampri, COO-OPaL, leading the pledge at the OPaL plant site and highlighting the importance of safety.

On the second day, a "Permit to Work" training session was held for OPaL employees. Concurrently, the PP, Maintenance, and HSE teams conducted safety training for contractors, covering the effective use of PPEs, safety in scaffolding preparation, and other critical safety issues.

Throughout the week, a variety of events and activities were organized to emphasize the significance of industrial safety. Activities included interactive sessions such as Spot Quizzes, Tool Box Talk (TBT) competitions, and Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) sessions, conducted across all departments. Additionally, a safety quiz was held to educate contractors and reinforce safety practices in every department.

The events and activities saw enthusiastic participation from employees, contractors, and all departments. The closing ceremony took place on March 18th, during which prizes were awarded to the winners. OPaL extends its congratulations to the HSE department for successfully organizing the event.
