35th National Road Safety Awareness Week Celebrated at OPaL

OPaL observed Road Safety Week 2024 starting from January 11th to 17th with the theme 'Sadak Suraksha - Jeevan Raksha', aligning with the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH). The objective was to spread awareness of road safety among OPaL employees and stakeholders. To ensure a spirited participation, a series of activities were organised to foster awareness and a culture of safety.

The week commenced with a Road Safety Pledge ceremony, followed by various events such as displaying E-Banners & Messages on all desktop screen savers daily and online road safety advisory/awareness through email.

To engage contract personnel, a road safety sensitization drive was conducted. Additionally, Defensive Driving Training was organized for all OPaL drivers and road safety awareness pamphlets and Traffic Safety stickers were affixed to their vehicle dashboards. A Health Check-up Drive for Security Jawans and Drivers was held at OHC.

Fire safety awareness for Traffic Jawans, Tool Box Talk (TBT) by traffic team, Traffic Naka (vehicle checking drive), Road Traffic Incident Model at prominent area were also conducted.

OPaLians had the opportunity to attend a talk on Road Safety delivered by Bharuch Traffic Police. Extending the outreach to stakeholders, a Road Safety Awareness session was conducted at Suva School.

The awareness week culminated with an engaging 'Nukkad Natak' skit performance by the security team to reinforce the importance of road safety.
