A Step towards a Greener World: OPaL Inducts a Fleet of Bicycles for Internal Commute
  • 04 - Feb - 2020

In the wake of rising concerns about the environment, OPaL is doing its bit to reduce the carbon footprint by inducting a fleet of bicycles for internal transport. The Smart Cycle project was flagged off by Shri Manoj Srivastava, President-OPaL on 4th February 2020 in presence of Head of Departments and employees. Shri Manoj Srivastava along with employees, took a lap of the plant on the newly inducted bicycles. At the moment, this initiative is introduced as a pilot project basis for 45 days starting from 4th February 2020. At this point, given the limited availability of Bicycle, 30 bicycles have been procured. In Dahej, employees of various departments have to move around in the plant for various interdepartmental work. Bicycles have been assigned to these departments as per their strength. If the project receives a good response, this will be made a permanent fixture in OPaL. All the safety measures have been taken care of for riding these bicycles.
